Starting today, coaches will be able to enter their athletes into Competition Events online — no paperwork required.  If you haven’t already registered, there’s still time.  Log in and get your jumpers signed up to compete!

Famed comedian, game show host, best selling author and TV show host Mr. Steve Harvey invited the Pink Panthers Double Dutch Team to perform on his TV show in Chicago mid December in 2012.  For many teams the honor of performing  jump rope for a national television audience would have been enough.  However, Mr. Harvey surprised the Pink Panthers and gave them an early Holiday present in the form of a $15,000 check from Hillshire Brands.  We asked Pink Panther’s Head Coach and Founder Joyce Dickerson what was going through her mind when she was presented the check?  She simply stated, “Shock and pure joy”.  That shock and joy moved her to tears as she reflected on what the funds will do for her program.

The Pink Panthers Double Dutch Team provides their south suburbia of Chicago, Illinois community with an elite jump rope youth sports program. The Pink Panthers serves more than 40 participants in the sport of jump rope since September of 2004 ranging from kindergarten through high school.  Their mission is simple…to develop youth physically and mentally through the sport of jump rope. Pink Panthers are proud to boast their 100% high school graduation rate with all jumpers attending major universities. The funds will help expand her program and give more youth in her community the chance to participate the sport of jump rope.

The International entertainment group Get Tricky is taking the Olympics by storm with dazzling halftime performances during the men’s and women’s  Olympic basketball games. Several of these jump rope athletes recently attended the World Jump Rope Championships in Washington DC.  It’s no surprise to jump rope world that the talent in London is simply world class!!!  We look forward to hearing more from Get Tricky in the weeks to come.

Homewood, IL—The five-time AAU Junior Olympics gold medal-winning Panthers JumpRope Team have released a new jump rope video in support ofFirst Lady Michelle Obama’sGet Fit Campaign.  The video features jumping, music and dancing fromiconic recording artist Beyonce and her “Move Your Body” song, also written for the Obama Campaign to prevent childhood obesity.

“I was so inspired by Michelle Obama and the Let’s Move Initiative that I wanted to contribute.  Thankful for the idea to do jump rope, jumping is another avenue to fight against childhood obesity.  We would be honored if given the opportunity to jump at the White House,” says Joyce Dickerson, Founder.

The Panthers teamed up with the nationally-ranked Jumpin’ Allstars double Dutch squad to produce the video along with former National Grand Champion jumper Nick Woodard.  The group choreographed a jaw-dropping routine of jumps, flips and twists that dazzled their live audience of family, friends, community members and elected officials convened at Homewood-Flossmoor High School.

“The Panthers offer youth the opportunity to maintain their health and improve their life skills during the most critical years of development,” says Joyce Dickerson.
